Amalgamated Industries, Inc.

Amalgamated Industries, Inc., a Connecticut corporation, named Thomas A. Kokoska corporate Secretary and General Counsel. Mr. Kokoska has directed Amalgamated’s Project Development since 1995. Amalgamated’s Board of Directors cited his guidance on individual projects valued in excess of $100 million as a primary factor in his selection. In his new position, Mr. Kokoska also will oversee project development and legal affairs for related company DeMatteo Industries, LLC.

Mr. Kokoska attended Yale University as a State of Connecticut Scholar, earned 7 varsity letters on 5 Ivy League champion football and baseball teams, including Yale’s last two Division 1 NCAA top-25 football teams. He graduated in 1982 with a B.A. degree in Anthropology. He attended The Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas, as a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar, where he was named to The Barristers Legal Honor Society and graduated with a J.D. in 1986.

He began his law career in Dallas, representing various business entities owned by Texas multi-millionaire Bum Bright, including The Dallas Cowboys, Texas Stadium Corporation and Bright Bank. He then moved to Austin, Texas, to represent successor financial institutions recovering assets and fighting fraud during the savings and loan crisis. Mr. Kokoska returned to Connecticut and practiced several years as a commercial litigator before joining Amalgamated.

Mr. Kokoska is a Fellow of Timothy Dwight College at Yale University, as well as a director of the Yale Football and Yale Baseball Associations, and recently was director of the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford. He is a Member of the Conlegium Tempietto Legal Society of Dallas, Texas. He is married to Mara Lytle, and has two children, Claire and Sophie.
