Musicians Monthly Performer Spec - Darlene D


Born in New Haven, CT, Darlene "D" composes, arranges, programs, and co-produces all of her recordings working closely with her brothers, Rob Cavalier, who does guitar arrangement, engineering, and producing, and Tommy Cavalier who is a lyricist and singer and performs in her live show.

Her cut "Tricky Ricky" was released on "The Compilation" Album which was test-marketed in the underground circuit (radio, clubs, etc.) in New York, Connecticut, and Boston. J.D. DeMatteo, the owner of Atlantis in Branford, CT commented, "I’ve had many major recording acts at my clubs and DARLENE "D"’s musical performance and choreography is one of the best I’ve ever seen." Recent performances include opening for such acts as Corina. Also, she recently was interviewed on the popular Joe Franklin Show and made a few local TV appearances.

Her debut album (entitled "Safari Hunter," containing 8 songs) is now available for promotion Also available is her 12" hit, "I Like You." After being asked to perform at a private Mercury Records party recently (with Lidell Townsell, Ultra Magnetic MC’s, Bobby Konders, to name a few), she received the highest rating on both song and performance by the jocks. This took place at the Record Pool Business Center (RPBC/Eddie Rivera) in New York.
